On Friday 19th Feb we flew into Bucharest Airport and was met by Oana and travelled towards the mountains for our weekend in Romania.

On arrival we checked into the Hotel Alexandros in Busteni. We had free time until all other participants arrived into the hotel, so we sent for a walk around.

Dinner together and it was great to meet up with old friends, and meet new friends. Good meal and good company.

Saturday morning after breakfast we made our way to the top of a very high mountain in the Bucegi mountain range, beautiful views. We travelled up by cable car. The visit here was for us to see the rock formations at the top of the mountain – The Sphinx and the Babele on plateau of Bucegi Mountains. We got the cable car for our trip down to earth!!

We returned to the hotel for our meeting. On the agenda was planning for the next activities – youth mobilities. JoyNeet Association and possible future initiatives and establishing the ENGO and the signing of the Statute & Internal Regulation, Election of Board Members.

This was a very successful meeting and we moved on to the Dining Hall for lunch. We continued to talk about the meeting and its issues.

In the afternoon we left for Sinaia to visit the Castle of King Carole, absolutely beautiful and it is set in beautiful countryside.

On the way back to Busteni we stopped off for a Champagne tasting, very nice way to finish this trip.

Dinner in the Hotel, after some music and dancing which included Marco playing the trumpet, very good. Very good evening.

On Sunday, after breakfast, we left for the ski slope in Poiana Brasov. Here we could look down on the walled city of Brasov, great view.

We returned to earth again by cable car and walked into the beautiful walled city of Brasov. lulia gave us a guided tour of the city. After we had free time to explore some more then lunch in a very nice restaurant.

We were to have a sleigh ride to Gura Diham Chalet but unfortunately and totally out of character there was NO snow. So we visited a huge shopping mall instead. Then it was back to the hotel for a rest and then prepare for the bonfire night with mulled wine, the mulled wine was very good and warming.

After enjoying the bonfire we went into dinner and as this was our final meal together until the next project weekend so we had a beautiful meal, presents and celebratory cake. Again music, dancing and Marco playing for us.

We departed for the airport at 8am the next morning, what a great and productive weekend.
