Team Bicester in Italy
The group left for Novi Ligure on Thursday 18th April, made their way to the Airport, meeting Damian at the airport.
Good flight to Verona, then on to Modena where Nick now lives. They spent the evening in Modena with a great meal in a nearby restaurant, they also celebrated as Nick’s fiancée is expecting their first child.
Next day they drove to Novi Ligure, arrived in the town and checked into their hotel. An evening meal was enjoyed at the hotel, in fact Damian’s steak was extremely big and he couldn’t finish it!!!!
Saturday morning was spent looking around Novi, especially the old centre.
After a small lunch they made their way to The Sporting Club. They were met by Mino and Gian Luca (Mino’s son).
Damian, Nick and Paul were given instructions and taken to practice on the range, they were then able to set the competition up.
The time flew by and it was time to finish their 1st session.
They returned to the Hotel to freshen up and then met Roberto who joined them for a meal, his choice of restaurant was one of his favourites. We, as an association, met Roberto over 6 years ago when Bicester and Novi first met with a view to making a link. Good conversation flowed along with good food.
Back to the hotel for a night cap.
Sunday was a late start and they made their way to The Sporting Club for another 2 hour session. Ian, another Englishman resident in Modena, joined the Team Bicester. Another good 2 hours of competition and it was their time to leave.
All Team Bicester thanked Mino and Gian Luca for looking after them so well and for letting them visit the Club again for 2 days of entertaining competition. The President of the Club was also thanked for allowing them to be there again.
Once back in Modena there was another Italian meal with good wine and company. During the meal there was some debate as to who won the competition, Nick said he won, but Damian and John said they won. The debate carried on but one thing was sure, they had a great weekend.
They left Modena on Tuesday for their return to the UK.
Another trip is being planned for September 2013.
